Viktor Orbán’s undeclared €45 million castle

1–2 minutes

The Prime Minister of Hungary and key Donald Trump ally in Europe, Viktor Orbán, revealed to own a €45 million castle after officially declaring, only having €14 thousand in his bank account and only owning two houses.

According to the official declaration, Orbán and his wife have €14,000 euros in their bank account and own two houses. However, the Hungarian prime minister lives in an ancient castle from the Austro-Hungarian era. The castle was purchased for €15 million, and another €30 million was spent on restoration. The Hatvanpuszta estate was discovered and recorded by a film crew from the French TV channel France 2. The video was subsequently published on the YouTube channel of Hungarian National Assembly member Akos Hadházy.

The palace is registered to Orbán’s father Győző Orbán Sr. He is the majority owner and managing director of the mining corporation Dolomit Kft., headquartered in Gánt , with an annual turnover of three billion forints (€7,403,250), the other head of of the company is his son, Győző Orbán Jr. . Together with members of the Orbán family, he also owns Gánt Kő és Tőzeg Kft., Nehéz Kő Kft., CzG Ingatlanforgalmazó Kft. and HahótPack Kft. (which merged into Gánt Kő és Tőzeg Kft. in 2014).

Assembly member Hathazy and a film crew flew around the town of Hatvan to film the prime minister’s estate. “He [Orbán] is the most corrupt politician in Europe, who has to lie more and more over and over again because he has already stolen too much,” the commentary under the video reads.”
