Introduction
Jean-Luc Didier Henri René Brunel (French, born September 18, 1946, Neuilly-sur-Seine, France; died February 19, 2022, Paris, France) was a French modelling agent whose career spanned four decades and whose documented connections to Jeffrey Epstein (USian, born January 20, 1953, Brooklyn, New York, US; died August 10, 2019, New York, US) place him at the center of the most extensively documented rape trafficking network in modern legal history. Jean-Luc Brunel ran Karin Models in Paris from 1978 and co-founded MC2 Model Management in the US in 2004 with one million dollars in direct financing from Jeffrey Epstein. He appeared in Jeffrey Epstein’s flight logs on 25 documented trips, visited Jeffrey Epstein in Florida jail between 67 and 70 times, and was identified in a 2019 FBI Criminal Investigative Division document as one of Jeffrey Epstein’s co-conspirators. [1][5][25]
He was charged in France in December 2020 with rape of minors over the age of 15 and sexual harassment, and further indicted in June 2021 for drugging and raping a 17-year-old girl in the 1990s. [1][7] More than a dozen women made allegations of rape and sexual assault against him spanning from the 1980s to the early 2000s. He died by suicide at La Santé Prison in Paris on 19 February 2022, before any trial could take place, leaving every accusation formally unadjudicated. [3][6]
In January 2026, the US Department of Justice released the largest tranche of Epstein files to date, totalling over three million pages alongside approximately 2,000 videos and 180,000 images. Jean-Luc Brunel appears in 756 of those documents and in 51 flight log entries. [5][27] The releases prompted the Paris prosecutor’s office to assemble a dedicated team of five magistrates, reopen the Jean-Luc Brunel file, and launch new investigations into human trafficking, sexual crimes, and financial offences connected to French nationals in the Epstein network. [29][30] Three living French nationals, the diplomat Fabrice Aidan, the modelling scout Daniel Siad, and the conductor Frédéric Chaslin, became the subject of new inquiries in mid-February 2026. [74] Former Culture Minister Jack Lang, whose name appears 673 times in the released files, resigned his post at the Arab World Institute and became the subject of a preliminary investigation for laundering of aggravated tax fraud proceeds. [84][90]
The releases have also triggered formal trafficking investigations in Latvia, Lithuania, and Poland, each centred on the recruitment pipeline that Jean-Luc Brunel ran through MC2 Model Management, the modelling scout Daniel Siad, and the successor Kyiv agency 1Mother that Jean-Luc Brunel founded personally in the months after Jeffrey Epstein’s death. [114][116][117][138]
Jean-Luc Brunel: Family Background
Jean-Luc Brunel was born into an upper-middle-class family in Neuilly-sur-Seine, a prosperous commune on the western edge of Paris. One of his parents worked in real estate. [1] Public records do not establish which parent held that role or provide that parent’s full name. His brother, Arnaud Brunel (French, born circa 1948, France), was his business partner in the late 1980s and early 1990s, co-founding Next Management Corporation with him in 1988. [15] His sister’s name has not appeared in any public record of the investigation.
Jean-Luc Brunel was married twice. His first wife was Helen Hogberg (Swedish, born circa 1952, Sweden), a model, from whom he divorced in 1979. [1] His second wife was Roberta Chirko (USian, born circa 1963, US), a model whom he married on 22 October 1988, the day before the CBS 60 Minutes broadcast detailing allegations of his sexual misconduct aired nationally. [1] That marriage also ended in divorce. No children of Jean-Luc Brunel have been identified in any public record of the investigation.
Jean-Luc Brunel Early Life and Career
Jean-Luc Brunel did not pursue a traditional career path after finishing his education in the Paris region. He entered the hospitality and entertainment industry first, working in restaurant public relations, before gravitating toward fashion in the mid-1970s. [1] By 1976 he had become a scout for Karin Models, the Paris agency founded by Karin Mossberg (Swedish, born circa 1938, Sweden). By 1978 he was running the agency. [1][91] He built a social reputation across the following decade as a man who hosted models and wealthy older male guests at his Avenue Hoche apartment and at expensive Paris restaurants, and who was a fixture at Les Bains Douches, the nightclub where much of Paris’s fashion and media world mixed with an older, moneyed clientele. [24][92]
The Avenue Hoche apartment was positioned near the Karin Models headquarters in the 8th arrondissement of Paris. Legendary dinner parties hosted at the apartment involved bowls of cocaine provided openly to guests and the attendance of scores of young models, princes, pop stars and film producers. [92]
Karin Models ran a housing system that investigators have since described as debt bondage. [91] The agency leased and managed the apartments in which young models, many of them minors, were housed. Parents were reassured the housing was safe and supervised. In practice, the apartments were unmonitored by third parties, and what industry sources called “friends of the agency” had easy access. Rents were marked up, in some cases by as much as 500 percent, generating debt that bound models to the agency. Agency-controlled visa sponsorship then deprived models of any safe means of leaving or reporting abuse without facing immediate deportation risk. Agency staff acted as handlers scheduling social appointments between models and wealthy clients. The system was the physical and legal infrastructure that made the abuse sustainable. [91]
He has claimed to have personally discovered or launched the careers of Christy Turlington (USian, born January 2, 1969, Walnut Creek, California, US), Sharon Stone (USian, born March 10, 1958, Meadville, Pennsylvania, US), Milla Jovovich (USian-Ukrainian, born December 17, 1975, Kyiv, Soviet Ukraine), Monica Bellucci (Italian, born September 30, 1964, Città di Castello, Italy), and Jerry Hall (USian, born July 2, 1956, Gonzales, Texas, US). [17] None of those claims have been independently verified against agency records, and some of the individuals named have not publicly confirmed them.
In 1988, Jean-Luc Brunel and Arnaud Brunel founded Next Management Corporation. The following year they partnered with Faith Kates (USian, born circa 1955, US) to form the global agency Next Management Company, in which Faith Kates held a majority stake and the Brunel brothers controlled 25 percent. [15] After a dispute, Next Management Company sued the Brunel brothers in 1996 following Jean-Luc Brunel’s departure with the Miami model roster. [15] Jean-Luc Brunel founded Karin Models of America in 1995. [1] In November 1999 he was included in a BBC One MacIntyre Undercover report on sexual abuse within the modelling industry, which led to his being banned from his European agency. [1] Following that ban, he relied on funding from his brother Arnaud and their business partner Étienne des Roys (French, born unknown, France) to continue operating. [1] When both financiers pulled out in 2003, and the Paris office of Karin Models filed to revoke Brunel’s claim to the Karin trademark in 2004, he rebranded the agency as MC2 Model Management. [1]
Jean-Luc Brunel and the 1988 CBS Investigation
In 1988, CBS News producer Craig Pyes (USian, born circa 1945, US) and journalist Diane Sawyer (USian, born December 22, 1945, Glasgow, Kentucky, US) conducted a seven-month investigation into Jean-Luc Brunel and his fellow Paris modelling agent Claude Haddad (French, born unknown, France). The resulting segment, “American Models in Paris,” aired on 23 October 1988 as part of 60 Minutes. [15][11]
Multiple models told the program that Jean-Luc Brunel had created a culture in which young women working in Paris were routinely drugged and sexually abused. Craig Pyes stated in connection with the investigation: “Hundreds of girls were not only harassed, but molested.” [13] According to Jezebel’s 2010 coverage of the investigation, the program interviewed nearly two dozen models who described sexual assault by Jean-Luc Brunel and/or Claude Haddad. [13] The segment reported that Karin-controlled apartments, marketed to parents as safe and supervised, were in fact sites of drug use and sexual abuse, and that the agency housing arrangement generated escalating debt that trapped young models in France. [91] A model stated on camera, casually, that in the Paris modelling environment, “you’re there for the purpose of someone wanting to take you home to bed. If you say no, you don’t work.” [26]
Eileen Ford (USian, born March 25, 1922, Briarcliff Manor, New York, US; died July 9, 2014, Montclair, New Jersey, US), founder of the Ford Modeling Agency, appeared in the segment and stated she had been unaware of complaints from models she had sent to Jean-Luc Brunel for Paris assignments. Eileen Ford severed ties with Jean-Luc Brunel after the broadcast. [11]
John Casablancas (USian-French, born December 12, 1942, New York, US; died July 19, 2013, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil), founder of the rival Elite modelling agency, is documented as having said at the time: “I really despise Jean-Luc as a human being for the way he’s cheapened the business. There is no justice. This is a guy who should be behind bars. There was a little group, Jean-Luc, Patrick Gilles, and Varsano. They were very well-known in Paris for roaming the clubs. They would invite girls and put drugs in their drinks. Everybody knew they were creeps.” [13] Michael Gross’s 1995 book “Model: The Ugly Business of Beautiful Women” additionally recorded Casablancas as telling Gross that Jean-Luc Brunel would fly girls from Karin Models to Saint-Tropez for weekends, and included Brunel’s own admission of years of cocaine use. [11][15] John Casablancas was himself subsequently removed from the modelling industry over his own conduct with models. His longtime associate at Elite, Gerald Marie (French, born 1950, France), became the subject of a separate and overlapping investigation in France, covered in its own section below.
No criminal investigation was opened in France or the US following the 1988 broadcast. [16] Jean-Luc Brunel married Roberta Chirko the day before airdate. He continued to operate Karin Models without interruption for more than a decade. The 1988 broadcast, the 1995 Michael Gross book, the 1999 MacIntyre BBC Undercover report, and the absence of any legal consequence for any of them form the established documented record of institutional failure that preceded Jean-Luc Brunel’s connection to Jeffrey Epstein.
Jean-Luc Brunel and Jeffrey Epstein
Jean-Luc Brunel was introduced to Jeffrey Epstein by Ghislaine Maxwell (British, born December 25, 1961, Maisons-Laffitte, France), the daughter of media tycoon Robert Maxwell (British-Czech, born January 10, 1923, Slatinské Doly, Czechoslovakia; died November 5, 1991, Atlantic Ocean), in the late 1980s or early 1990s. [1] Ghislaine Maxwell has been convicted on federal charges including sex trafficking conspiracy in the US and is currently serving a 20-year sentence.
Their documented relationship deepened substantially from the late 1990s onward. From 1998 to 2005, Jean-Luc Brunel appears as a passenger in flight logs for Jeffrey Epstein’s private aircraft on 25 separate trips. [1][5] Those flights connected New York, Palm Beach, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and other destinations. When Jeffrey Epstein was jailed in Florida in 2008, having pleaded guilty to procuring a minor for prostitution and solicitation, Jean-Luc Brunel visited him between 67 and 70 times in the 13 months Jeffrey Epstein served under work-release arrangements. Jail visitor logs identify “Jean-Luc” more than six dozen times across that period. [38][1]
Financial records confirmed in civil litigation establish that Jeffrey Epstein wired up to one million dollars to a Jean-Luc Brunel offshore bank account in approximately September 2004, providing the capitalisation for MC2 Model Management. [1][5] Maritza Vasquez (USian, born circa 1965, US), who served as bookkeeper for Karin Models Miami from 1998 and for MC2 from its establishment through 2006, confirmed that investment in a sworn 2010 deposition taken by attorney Bradley Edwards (USian, born circa 1972, Florida, US), who represented multiple Jeffrey Epstein accusers. When asked what Jeffrey Epstein was getting out of MC2, Maritza Vasquez replied in that deposition, as transcribed: “The only thing that I can think he was getting was the girls. Nothing else. Because he has all the money.” [62][64]
Maritza Vasquez testified that Jean-Luc Brunel employed scouts in South America, Europe, and the former Soviet Union to recruit young models, many of them minors, and bring them to the US. [62] She stated that models were housed in apartments at 301 East 66th Street in Manhattan, a building where Jeffrey Epstein owned or controlled multiple units and where Jean-Luc Brunel himself lived. [67] When asked whether those girls had parental oversight while in the US, she said: “Not at all.” [64]
Maritza Vasquez also recounted an email she had seen in which Jean-Luc Brunel wrote to Jeffrey Epstein about her own anticipated deposition in earlier civil proceedings: “Her lawyers said she will take the 5th on everything. What to do???” Jeffrey Epstein responded: “Ask every question you can think of, did she have sex with the girls. Make her sit and take the fifth to every question for hours.” [70]
A 2012 version of Jeffrey Epstein’s trust listed Jean-Luc Brunel as a beneficiary for up to five million dollars. [70] An email from Jeffrey Epstein to Jean-Luc Brunel, dated 13 July 2006 and disclosed in the 2026 document releases, instructed Jean-Luc Brunel to place a specific woman “on your payroll” at fifty thousand dollars annually and noted that Jeffrey Epstein would be in Paris the following week and “could see her then.” [70]
Virginia Roberts Giuffre’s posthumous memoir, published in October 2025, documents the scale of the pipeline Jean-Luc Brunel ran for Jeffrey Epstein. [41] Virginia Giuffre wrote that Jeffrey Epstein had boasted to her that he had slept with more than 1,000 girls supplied by Jean-Luc Brunel. [42] On one occasion, she wrote, Jean-Luc Brunel sent Jeffrey Epstein three twelve-year-old French girls described as triplets as a birthday gift. Jeffrey Epstein, according to her account, had sex with them and put them on a plane back to France. [42] On a separate occasion, she wrote, Jean-Luc Brunel sent scouts on Jeffrey Epstein’s private jet to Brazil to recruit underage girls from soccer fields. [42][93] These specific accounts, detailed in Ranking Member Robert Garcia’s October 22, 2025 letter to Attorney General Pam Bondi, formed part of the Congressional pressure that led to the February 2026 unredaction of the 2019 FBI co-conspirator document. [93]
Virginia Giuffre also wrote that Jeffrey Epstein’s residences were wired with surveillance cameras in every room, and that at the Manhattan townhouse Jeffrey Epstein had personally shown her the room where he monitored and recorded the camera feeds. She believed the footage functioned as leverage over the powerful men who passed through the property. Another Jeffrey Epstein victim, Lisa Phillips (USian, born unknown, US), has stated that when she asked Jeffrey Epstein why he encouraged a friend to have sex with Prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, his answer referenced the recording infrastructure. [42]
In 2005, while Jeffrey Epstein was under investigation by the Palm Beach Police Department, officers seized a phone message pad from Jeffrey Epstein’s Palm Beach mansion. Two handwritten messages from that pad, attributed to Jean-Luc Brunel and later entered into civil litigation by Bradley Edwards, provide the most directly documented evidence of how Jean-Luc Brunel and Jeffrey Epstein worked together in the exploitation of minors. The first message, timestamped 8:08 a.m. on April 1, 2005, read: “He has a teacher for you to teach you how to speak Russian. She is 2 x 8 years old not blonde. Lessons are free and you can have 1st today if you call.” Jean-Luc Brunel followed up with additional calls at 8:31 a.m. and 9:04 a.m. [31][33] A second undated message read: “Just did a good one, 18 years (She spoke to me and said ‘I love Jeffrey’).” [32]
In a court filing submitted in the litigation, attorneys for Bradley Edwards wrote: “In light of these circumstances of the case, this message reasonably suggested to Edwards that Brunel might have been procuring two eight-year-old girls for Epstein to sexually abuse.” [34] That filing also described Jean-Luc Brunel as someone with “a reputation throughout the world (and especially in the modeling industry) as a cocaine addict that has for years molested children through modeling agencies while acting as their agent, conduct that has been the subject of critical reports, books, several news articles, and a 60 Minutes documentary.” [34]
A flight log from 14 February 2005 documents a trip from Columbus, Ohio, a city closely associated with Jeffrey Epstein’s associate Les Wexner (USian, born September 8, 1937, Dayton, Ohio, US), the former CEO of Victoria’s Secret parent company L Brands, to Palm Beach, Florida. Passengers listed on that flight include Jeffrey Epstein, Jean-Luc Brunel, and Nadia Marcinkova (Yugoslav-USian, born circa 1985, Yugoslavia), who was 19 years old at the time. Maritza Vasquez testified in her 2010 deposition that Nadia Marcinkova had been brought to the US from the former Yugoslavia to live with Jeffrey Epstein when she was 14 years old. [38][63] That same flight log was subsequently found to have failed to list three additional female passengers. [38]
Jean-Luc Brunel and MC2 Model Management
MC2 Model Management opened offices in New York and Miami in 2005. Its name referenced Jeffrey Epstein through the equation E=MC2, with the E standing for Epstein’s surname, according to reporting cited in The Dupree Report drawing on Wall Street Journal documentation. [26] Clients of MC2 at various points included Nordstrom, Macy’s, Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, JCPenney, Kohl’s, Target, Sears, and Belk. [24] The agency also maintained an office in Tel Aviv. [2] According to an accounting firm’s analysis, MC2 lost an estimated 49 million dollars between 2006 and 2015. [24] The losses, against continuing major retail contracts, have been read by subsequent investigators as suggesting that MC2’s commercial trajectory was secondary to its role as a recruitment and logistics pipeline for Jeffrey Epstein’s network.
In January 2015, Jean-Luc Brunel and MC2 filed a civil lawsuit against Jeffrey Epstein in a Florida state court. The complaint alleged that Jeffrey Epstein’s criminal charges and resulting publicity had caused MC2 reputational damage and lost business of potentially ten million dollars. [70][63] The complaint also alleged that Jeffrey Epstein had committed perjury by directing Jean-Luc Brunel to avoid having his deposition taken in the Palm Beach criminal investigation. [18] A court of appeals in Miami-Dade County later sided with Jeffrey Epstein, finding that his counsel had not been properly served with the complaint. [63] Jean-Luc Brunel acknowledged in filings connected to that suit that he had received a letter of credit from Jeffrey Epstein at five percent interest, while maintaining that Jeffrey Epstein had no ownership or management role in MC2. [63]
After Jeffrey Epstein’s death in August 2019, Jean-Luc Brunel began quietly selling MC2 assets. The agency created two successor entities: The Identity Models in New York City and 1Mother Agency in Kyiv, Ukraine. [24] MC2’s Miami corporate registration was formally dissolved on 27 September 2019. Its Tel Aviv branch remained active as of early 2026. [24]
Jean-Luc Brunel, Jeffrey Epstein, and Daniel Siad
The 2026 DOJ Epstein file releases identify Daniel Siad (Swedish-French, born Daniel Amar Siad, Algerian-Kabylia origin, born circa 1957, Algeria; resides Stockholm, Sweden) as a modelling scout who operated as a recruiter of young women and girls for Jeffrey Epstein’s network across at least a dozen countries from approximately 2002 to 2019. [82][83] Daniel Siad’s name appears in 2,356 documents in the indexed Epstein case files as of March 2026, making him the most extensively documented non-Russian Eastern European recruiter in the entire cache. [94] Daniel Siad was born in the Kabylia region of Algeria, immigrated to Sweden in 1980, identifies as a Berber Jew, and holds Swedish citizenship. [82] He operated through the modelling agency “What’s Up Management.” He has also worked as a fashion photographer, as a project manager for the World Fashion Channel, and as a financial consultant, with residences in Stockholm, Paris, and Barcelona. [82][94]
The documented connection between Daniel Siad and Jean-Luc Brunel is direct. A March 3, 2016 document, submitted as a court exhibit by the Ghislaine Maxwell legal team and authored by attorney Stan Pottinger (USian, born circa 1940, US), a lawyer representing several Jeffrey Epstein victims, reads: “Yesterday I spoke of Daniel Siad, whom Jean Luc Brunel describes as a ‘scout’ or recruiter of girls and/or women for J. Epstein.” [83][88] This identification was made by Jean-Luc Brunel himself during the 2016 period in which he was secretly negotiating cooperation with US prosecutors, discussed in detail below.
Daniel Siad’s documented correspondence with Jeffrey Epstein, reviewed by AFP, RTL Nieuws, and Inkyfada, shows him forwarding photographs, profiles, and sometimes videos of young women to Jeffrey Epstein and to Jean-Luc Brunel across multiple countries including Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Latvia, Bulgaria, South Africa (particularly Cape Town), France, Spain (Ibiza and Barcelona), Morocco, Cuba, and Tunisia. [82][83][94] Prague appears to have functioned as a logistics hub. [94] The earliest dated email in the released files is a July 2002 message from Daniel Siad to Jeffrey Epstein attached with a photograph of a young woman captioned “Cute French girl in Marrakech.” [94] A 2009 email confirmed plans to scout “small villages” across Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Hungary during June and July. In 2010, Daniel Siad contacted Next One Agency in Sofia, Bulgaria, and sent photographs of candidates to Jeffrey Epstein while organising meetings. [82]
On 24 July 2010, Daniel Siad emailed Jeffrey Epstein from Ibiza: “Can you call me I am with tigrane he would like to meet you he is here with me in Ibiza with 8 top girls he said he would like to meet you.” A second email from the same day read: “Can you come to Ibiza or you can send us the ticket to come with Tigrane and five girls to Paris because they have there visa.” A third read: “A great friend of mine rented Huge House in Ibiza so invited a lots of girls from Russia all models.” [94] The documented pattern shows Daniel Siad requesting that Jeffrey Epstein fund travel for groups of young women across borders into the shared territory he worked with Jean-Luc Brunel.
A July 2014 message from Daniel Siad to Jeffrey Epstein refers to at least five potential recruits aged 16 and 17 and one 15-year-old French girl. [83] In 2014, Daniel Siad wrote to Jeffrey Epstein about women he had identified: “In This busyness I feel like a fisherman some time I cache quick, some time no fish.” [83] Daniel Siad also wrote to Jeffrey Epstein in 2014: “Stockholm is full of the most beautiful models who have never modelled before. It’s like a gold mine.” [95] Jeffrey Epstein’s correspondence from 2018 forwarded Daniel Siad’s bank details to his accountant Richard Kahn (USian, born unknown, US) with the note: “5 year loan for 25k dollars.” [83]
Ebba P. Karlsson (Swedish, born circa 1970, Sweden), a former Swedish model, filed a complaint with the Paris prosecutor’s office on February 10, 2026, after recognising Daniel Siad in a photograph released as part of the Epstein files, 36 years after the alleged incident. [85][87] Ebba Karlsson told BFMTV that she met Daniel Siad in Stockholm in 1990, when she was approximately 20 years old. In her account: “He said he found me so beautiful and could help me get a modelling career in France.” She travelled with him. Once in France, the promised work did not materialise. “He took me to Monaco, but it turned out there was no work there at all. Then we went to a villa in Cannes, but it was closed. He then raped me in the garden shed by the pool.” [89] On recognising his face in the Epstein files, Ebba Karlsson told AFP: “I just wanted to throw up. It was such a shock.” [85]
Ebba Karlsson also alleges that Daniel Siad sexually exploited her by introducing her to Gerald Marie, the European head of Elite Model Management, and that Gerald Marie raped her on a separate occasion. Both men deny the allegations. [85][96] Ebba Karlsson told BFMTV she had received death threats from Daniel Siad in the aftermath of her coming forward. [88] On approximately March 23, 2026, Ebba Karlsson was questioned in Paris by officers from France’s Central Office for the Suppression of Trafficking in Human Beings. [85] Daniel Siad’s lawyer Menya Arab-Tigrine (French, born unknown, France) told AFP: “Daniel Siad can only effectively defend himself within the framework of criminal proceedings brought against him. He wishes to be heard as soon as possible.” [85]
On February 3, 2026, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk (Polish, born April 22, 1957, Gdańsk, Poland) announced the formation of a dedicated Polish analytical group under Justice Minister and Prosecutor General Waldemar Żurek (Polish, born circa 1970, Poland), staffed by prosecutors and representatives of the Polish government, security services, police, and border guard. [135] Donald Tusk publicly framed the investigation as both a child-protection and national-security matter. He stated: “We cannot allow that any of the cases involving abuse of Polish children by the network of paedophiles and the organizer of this satanic circle, Mr Epstein, be treated lightly.” [135] The documentary basis for the Polish investigation is Daniel Siad’s own 2009 email to Jeffrey Epstein, which specifically mentioned Kraków and stated that he “has some girls allready [sic]” there. [137]
On March 10, 2026, the Polish National Prosecutor’s Office opened a formal investigation into human trafficking committed between 2009 and August 2019 on Polish territory. Polish National Prosecutor’s Office spokesman Przemysław Nowak (Polish, born unknown, Poland) described the suspected scheme as “recruiting adult and minor female persons, including Polish citizens, by misleading them about the real nature of future employment abroad, organizing their transport from Poland and handing them over to other persons for the purpose of sexual exploitation.” [138] A potential suspect has been identified. No formal charges have been brought as of April 2026. The Polish files also reference Janusz Banasiak (Polish, born unknown, Poland), a Polish national who managed Jeffrey Epstein’s Palm Beach residence for approximately two decades and later testified in US proceedings, and Adriana Mucińska Ross (Polish, born unknown, Poland), a Polish model who travelled on Jeffrey Epstein’s private jet and who was named in a 2008 US case as a potential participant in a scheme involving sexual exploitation of minors without ever being charged. [139]
Poland is the first jurisdiction to have opened a formal trafficking case structured around the Brunel-Siad recruitment pipeline directly, rather than around the survivor complaints that drove the French proceedings. The Polish prosecution is targeting the method itself, beginning with Daniel Siad’s 2009 Kraków emails.
As of April 2026, Daniel Siad has been charged in France in connection with the Karlsson complaint but has not been charged in relation to Jeffrey Epstein’s trafficking network directly. In February 2026, he gave an interview to Swedish broadcaster Expressen in which he stated he intended to clear his name. [95] RTL Nieuws separately identified five Dutch women whose photographs had been forwarded by Daniel Siad to Jeffrey Epstein. Latvia, Lithuania, and Poland have opened wide-ranging official investigations into the documents. [11]
The Baltic and Slavic Recruitment Pipeline
Maritza Vasquez testified in her 2010 deposition that Jean-Luc Brunel employed scouts “in South America, Europe, and the former Soviet Union” to recruit young models, many of them minors, and bring them to the US. [62] The 2026 DOJ releases have now filled in the ground-level detail behind the phrase “the former Soviet Union.” Jean-Luc Brunel’s documented recruitment activity concentrated on the Baltic states, Ukraine, and Russia, with MC2 Model Management functioning as the US-side legal infrastructure, immigration sponsor, and housing provider, and Daniel Siad running the Central and Eastern European scouting arm. Jeffrey Epstein provided the capital. In one file cited in the 2026 releases, Jeffrey Epstein summarised the supply side of the pipeline in his own words: “Saudi has oil. Moscow has girls.” [142]
Latvia and the Baltic Beauty contest
Latvia appears more than 500 times in the January 2026 Epstein file release, and its capital Riga more than 800 times. [111] The Latvian entries include passports belonging to Latvian girls, airline tickets to and from Riga, 67 hotel reservations at the upscale Grand Palace Hotel in Riga, gift shipments, and personal correspondence between Jeffrey Epstein and Latvian girls. Several Latvian model agencies are named in the correspondence, along with the Riga-based agency 2B Riga. [114] The earliest Latvian reference dates to 2001, when an unnamed Jeffrey Epstein associate claimed to have received a personal invitation from the then Prime Minister of Latvia, Andris Bērziņš (Latvian, born October 21, 1944, Nītaure, Latvia), to visit the country. Andris Bērziņš has publicly denied issuing any such invitation and told Delfi he has never been involved in fishing, a pretext mentioned in the original 2001 message. [122]
The documentary core of the Latvian pipeline is Jean-Luc Brunel’s own judging role. He served for several years on the jury of the Baltic Beauty modelling contest, organised by the Riga-based Natalie Models agency, which accepted entrants as young as 14. [114][122] Jean-Luc Brunel judged the bikini round of the 2011 Baltic Beauty Contest at Riga’s Brazilja Beach Center. [115] As early as 2011, Latvian Television’s investigative programme De facto reported that an investigation was underway into whether Jean-Luc Brunel was supplying underage girls to Jeffrey Epstein. The head of Natalie Models, Ēriks Meisāns (Latvian, born unknown, Latvia), whose name also appears in the released correspondence, denied any knowledge of the alleged supply at the time. [114][122]
On February 5, 2026, the State Police of Latvia, in coordination with the Prosecutor’s Office, opened formal criminal proceedings under the human trafficking provisions of the Latvian Criminal Code. The investigation is being conducted by the Department for Combating Organised, Serious and Serial Crime, jointly with the Organised Crime Bureau. [116] Police chief Ruks stated at a press conference that a criminal case was needed to enable international cooperation and to de-anonymise the released records, noting: “We need details and specific first and last names.” [124] He emphasised that the Latvian statute of limitations had not expired on several categories of potential offence and called publicly for Latvian survivors to come forward. Latvian President Edgars Rinkēvičs (Latvian, born September 21, 1973, Jūrmala, Latvia) had publicly called for the investigation two days earlier after the Latvian public broadcaster reported that the Epstein documents contained passport data and travel details for multiple Latvian women. [117]
Lithuania
Lithuania’s prosecutor’s office opened a pretrial investigation into human trafficking on February 3, 2026, after Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda (Lithuanian, born May 19, 1964, Klaipėda, Soviet Lithuania) publicly called for law enforcement to investigate the Lithuanian references in the files. [117] The Lithuanian investigative outlet 15min.lt identified Jeffrey Epstein’s correspondents including businessman Valdas Petreikis (Lithuanian, born unknown, Lithuania) and his wife Simona Petreikienė, model Dite Antanaityte (Lithuanian, born unknown, Lithuania), and violinist Justina Auskelyte (Lithuanian, born unknown, Lithuania). [111] The released documents indicate that Justina Auskelyte met Jeffrey Epstein, that he paid her mortgage on her family’s flat, and that on at least one occasion she requested cash from him to avoid tax liabilities. Further emails in the cache show photographs of Lithuanian women being forwarded to Jeffrey Epstein with commentary on their appearance; the sender in those particular threads remains unidentified. [111] Lithuania’s public broadcaster LRT has additionally reported that the will of Jeffrey Epstein left three million US dollars to the wife of a Lithuanian events organiser connected to the Midsummer Vilnius festival. [116]
Estonia
Estonia appears in the released files approximately 200 times, most of them incidental. The clearest identifiable Estonian reference is a 2011 email from a Jeffrey Epstein associate identified as Ramsey Elkholy (nationality unknown) replying to a Jeffrey Epstein query worded “how is riga estonia?”, conflating the two neighbouring Baltic states. [111][114] One redacted reference in the files mentions an unnamed Estonian prime minister. [115] The Estonian investigative weekly Eesti Ekspress has reported that Estonian girls participated in Jean-Luc Brunel’s 2011 Baltic Beauty bikini round in Riga, and that Daniel Siad visited Estonia in 2015 and on other occasions. [115]
On February 10, 2026, twelve Social Democratic lawmakers in the Estonian parliament filed a formal inquiry to Interior Minister Igor Taro (Estonian, born April 11, 1971, Tartu, Soviet Estonia) asking the Internal Security Service (Kaitsepolitseiamet) and the Prosecutor’s Office to examine the released material for any Estonian connections, citing the concurrent investigations in Latvia and Lithuania and the concern that individuals mentioned in the files could be vulnerable to blackmail. [118] Arnold Sinisalu (Estonian, born unknown, Estonia), the former director general of the Estonian Internal Security Service, publicly supported the inquiry. [115] Andreas Kaju (Estonian, born unknown, Estonia), a US-based political analyst interviewed by ERR, framed the exposure specifically as a counter-intelligence concern given reported links between Jeffrey Epstein’s network and Russian intelligence services. [115] The Estonian Security Police subsequently stated that the currently known Estonian references in the files do not threaten national security. As of April 2026, Estonia is the only Baltic state that has not opened a formal investigation. [119]
Ukraine and the 1Mother Agency
Ukraine’s modelling industry appears in the 2026 files through at least four Kyiv-based agencies. The most directly implicated is 1Mother Agency, one of two successor entities Jean-Luc Brunel created in the months after Jeffrey Epstein’s August 2019 death as he liquidated MC2. [24][131] Former 1Mother employees have told Ukrainian investigative outlet Antikor that Jean-Luc Brunel founded the agency personally. The other named agencies are Faces Models, which appears twice in correspondence with language such as “[Name unknown] is meeting with Faces Models in Kyiv. She asked you to choose the models you like through their website or Instagram,” and Linea 12 Models and L-Models, both of which appear in Jean-Luc Brunel’s own defamation filings. [131][132] Masha Manyuk, head of Linea 12, has told the Ukrainian news outlet Babel that her correspondence with Jean-Luc Brunel was routine booking-table communication and that she was unaware of the sexual abuse allegations against him at the time. Her Linea 12 models have publicly defended the agency’s conduct. The mechanism Manyuk described, scout-proposal followed by booking-table decision, is the same mechanism through which exploitation could be set up without the agency leadership necessarily knowing. [131]
Jean-Luc Brunel’s own Kyiv visits are documented in the released correspondence. In one email to another French correspondent, Jean-Luc Brunel wrote: “I’m going to take care of my libido. Kyiv is a good clinic.” [132] He travelled to Kyiv once or twice a year for castings over a period of roughly fifteen years and met Jeffrey Epstein at the Kyiv Hyatt hotel during several of those trips. Jeffrey Epstein on one occasion upgraded Jean-Luc Brunel’s hotel room category. [132] Ukrainian investigators examining the released correspondence have documented message traffic from Kyiv-based recruiters in which young women are described in a uniformly objectifying register: “19 years old, from Odesa. I asked her to come in a bikini.” “Oksana, 22 years old, Ukraine. Her new nickname is Squirt.” “Make a list of all candidates and their ratings with photos.” “I’m trying to find a flower for you, a Ukrainian, 20 years old, she’s not as slim anymore, but has a nice face.” “Model from Kyiv. Very pretty, but might be disobedient.” [132] Antikor has reported that a Ukrainian woman identified only as Khrystyna complained directly to Jeffrey Epstein about conditions at a Kyiv casting following which young women were sent abroad as what she described as “cheap escorts.” [132]
Russia and the Svetlana Pozhidaeva case
Svetlana “Lana” Pozhidaeva (Russian, born 1983 or 1984, Moscow, Soviet Russia; now legally Sofia Yuryevna Platt) is the most extensively documented individual scout operating on the Russian and post-Soviet arm of Jean-Luc Brunel’s MC2 pipeline. She was an honours graduate of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO), Russia’s premier diplomatic and intelligence training institution, fluent in English, French, Italian, and Spanish. [135] She was introduced to Jeffrey Epstein in 2008 by Daniel Siad, who offered to arrange a Victoria’s Secret audition for her. The audition never took place. Jeffrey Epstein instead secured her a US visa through MC2 Model Management, the agency Jean-Luc Brunel had co-founded with Jeffrey Epstein’s one million dollar wire transfer in 2004, and housed her at 301 East 66th Street in Manhattan, the same Jeffrey Epstein-controlled building at which Jean-Luc Brunel himself lived and in which MC2 models were housed. [138][141]
Daily Mail photographs from December 2010 show a woman leaving Jeffrey Epstein’s Manhattan mansion with luggage bearing an Aeroflot baggage tag carrying the name Svetlana Pozhidaeva. She disputes that the woman in those photographs was her. [137][141] Prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was staying at the mansion at the same time. [142] Svetlana Pozhidaeva confirmed in her March 2026 Wall Street Journal and OCCRP interviews that by at least 2013 she was living full-time in the US on what she described as a model visa, that she was sexually and physically abused by Jeffrey Epstein over approximately a decade, and that under that coercion she recruited young women for Jeffrey Epstein’s network from the former Soviet Union. She stated to OCCRP: “I’m not denying that I was recruiting women. That’s the most embarrassing and shameful and most regretful thing that happened.” [141] She described persistent eating disorders and insomnia during her time in the network.
In 2014 Svetlana Pozhidaeva was issued an O-1 visa for individuals with extraordinary abilities. The supporting letter was signed by Sergei Belyakov (Russian, born March 9, 1974, Kemerovo, Soviet Russia), then Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation and a graduate of the FSB Academy. Svetlana Pozhidaeva has confirmed in her public interviews that Sergei Belyakov wrote the letter at Jeffrey Epstein’s request. Sergei Belyakov appears in his own right in the released Epstein correspondence. [137][139] Her O-1 application came with a second layer of foreign backing: an Epstein foundation directly sponsored her subsequent visa status, a pattern her attorney Bradley Edwards has described as standard across Jeffrey Epstein’s handling of foreign models, designed to trap them in the network through visa dependence. [141]
DOCUMENTED FAMILIAL CONTEXT: Svetlana Pozhidaeva’s father Yuri Radomirovich Pozhidaev (Russian, born unknown, Soviet Russia) trained as a Persian-language military interpreter at the Military Institute of Foreign Languages in Moscow, an institution whose graduates predominantly served in the KGB’s First Chief Directorate or in the Soviet military attaché corps. Yuri Pozhidaev was posted to Afghanistan in 1978 on the eve of the Soviet invasion, working within the office of the chief Soviet military adviser in Kabul, a structure subordinated to the General Staff. He retired with the rank of lieutenant colonel in the late 1990s. Her mother Irina graduated from the same institute. [135] IStories has reported, citing a family acquaintance, that Yuri Pozhidaev is a “hereditary Chekist” whose father and grandfather also served in Soviet security agencies. [139] Svetlana Pozhidaeva has denied that her father was connected to the FSB. [141]
In December 2015, Svetlana Pozhidaeva’s parents travelled to the US. Jeffrey Epstein transferred more than 237,000 US dollars from his offshore Butterfly Trust to her account in advance of the visit, categorised in the correspondence as “for the family.” Her parents stayed with her in New York and then at Jeffrey Epstein’s Florida residence. After the visit, her mother Irina wrote to Jeffrey Epstein: “My son asked me: ‘How’s the house’? I said that it’s like ‘Great Getsby’ [sic]; ‘No,’ he said, ‘it’s not Great Getsby, it’s Great Jeffry!’ So, for our family you are a Great man!” [136] Svetlana Pozhidaeva wrote separately to Jeffrey Epstein describing the same visit: “Dad shared some stories from his FSB part, Pen loved it.” [136] Her then-boyfriend Pen King (USian, born unknown, US) was present. By that period, Svetlana Pozhidaeva’s parents had themselves begun sending Jeffrey Epstein photographs of young women. In one documented instance, her mother Irina attempted to offer Jeffrey Epstein a Ukrainian woman she described as being “in a really bad situation.” Her father Yuri forwarded photographs of young women to Jeffrey Epstein without accompanying text. Victims’ names in those 2015 documents were not redacted by the DOJ in the 2026 release. [135]
On January 29, 2020, five months after Jeffrey Epstein’s death, Russian state records show a formal change of Svetlana Pozhidaeva’s legal name to Sofia Yuryevna Platt. Her SNILS social insurance number and INN individual tax number remained identical, indicating a single continuous legal identity. Passport verification services show the previous passport marked invalid and a new passport issued in the Platt name. Bank deposits, medical records, and property registrations began using the new name within weeks. A foreign-travel passport in the Platt name was issued the same year and used to re-enter the US in 2020. [137] Svetlana Pozhidaeva returned to public visibility only after the January 2026 DOJ release failed to redact her name in multiple documents. She gave her first extended public account to the Wall Street Journal on March 14, 2026, and spoke with OCCRP over three days of interviews the same week, followed by the Important Stories investigation published on March 21, 2026 examining her family’s Russian military and security background. [135][141][137]
Former KGB Major Yuri Shvets (Russian, born unknown, Soviet Russia) has told journalist Craig Unger that in his assessment, Svetlana Pozhidaeva’s positioning within Jeffrey Epstein’s network suggests a deliberate effort to introduce a Russian asset into Jeffrey Epstein’s US technology and AI-adjacent circle, including Marvin Minsky, Bill Gates, and researchers at MIT. [140] That interpretation remains an analytical hypothesis. Svetlana Pozhidaeva has explicitly denied any intelligence affiliation. OCCRP’s investigation notes that the documentary evidence confirms her scouting role and her family’s security-services pedigree without confirming tasking. [141]
The broader post-Soviet flight and visa pattern
Flight records from the 2026 release show that in September and November 2005 Jeffrey Epstein travelled with passengers identified in the manifests only by nationality, including Slovakia, Belarus, Poland, the Czech Republic, and Russia, in the direct company of Jean-Luc Brunel and their immediate US associates. [129] One September 2005 flight from St. Thomas to Palm Beach lists Jeffrey Epstein, named US and Russian associates, a Belarusian national with a redacted name, and a Polish national with a redacted name. A separate 2005 flight from St. Thomas to Teterboro lists Jeffrey Epstein, a Slovak national with a redacted name, and Sarah Kellen (also known as Sarah Kensington; USian, born 1979, US), the Jeffrey Epstein employee whom a federal judge has described as “criminally responsible” in connection with his trafficking work. [129]
Immigration records reviewed in the same DOJ filings show that Jean-Luc Brunel-associated agencies (MC2 Model Management, Karin Models, and Next Management) sponsored H-1B visas for Eastern European fashion models across the mid-2000s, including at least one Slovak model and at least one Belarusian model. [129] Maritza Vasquez’s 2010 deposition confirmed that Jeffrey Epstein directly paid the visa costs for models brought into MC2. [62] The file releases also show Jeffrey Epstein funding scores of individual plane tickets for women travelling to Paris, New York, and Miami from the former Soviet bloc and Central Asia. Compliance officers at Deutsche Bank flagged payments Jeffrey Epstein sent to accounts at Alfa-Bank and Sberbank for potential sanctions review. “I know these are relatively small amounts, but it seems odd that Mr. Epstein would be sending payments to various individuals in Russia,” wrote one compliance officer in correspondence released in 2026. The payments were cleared after account holders were determined not to be sanctioned individuals. [142]
The Baltic and Slavic pipeline is the single best-documented arm of Jean-Luc Brunel’s work for Jeffrey Epstein. Unlike the Brazilian, French, and Dutch threads, it rests on Jean-Luc Brunel’s own personal presence in the recruitment theatre (as a named Baltic Beauty jury member in Riga, as a recurring visitor to Kyiv, as the founder of the Kyiv successor agency 1Mother, and as the named director of the MC2 pipeline that sponsored the visas and provided the housing). It also rests on contemporaneous 2011 Latvian reporting by LTV’s De facto programme that predates Jeffrey Epstein’s death by eight years. Latvia, Lithuania, and Poland have now opened formal trafficking investigations against the pipeline. Estonia has not. The French prosecutor’s umbrella structure under the five-magistrate team established on February 14, 2026 is the natural venue for consolidation of the European investigations, and the 1Mother Agency in Kyiv (founded after Jeffrey Epstein’s death and built out of the dissolution of MC2 Miami) is the live successor that a consolidated investigation would need to examine.
Jean-Luc Brunel and the Accusers
The documented allegations against Jean-Luc Brunel span from 1985 to the early 2000s and involve more than a dozen named and unnamed women across France, the US, and other jurisdictions. Evidentiary labels are applied throughout.
A Canadian former model (name withheld in reporting), 26 years old at the time, alleges Jean-Luc Brunel approached her while she was clubbing in Paris in 1987, asked her to accompany him to his apartment to pick something up, offered her a drink, drugged her, and raped her. She told CBS News: “The next thing I remember is waking up in his bed. He was beside me, and he was sleeping and naked, and I was wondering how I got there.” She did not report the assault at the time, partly because of her limited French. She came forward in October 2019 after learning Jean-Luc Brunel had been named in the Jeffrey Epstein investigation. Her case was outside the French 20-year statute of limitations for rape and could not be prosecuted. Her account establishes the earliest formally documented rape accusation against Jean-Luc Brunel, predating the October 1988 CBS 60 Minutes broadcast by more than a year. [11]
Courtney Soerensen (USian, born circa 1969, US), a model who appeared in the 1988 CBS 60 Minutes segment, alleged that in spring 1988, while working in Paris as a 19-year-old, she was repeatedly sexually assaulted by Jean-Luc Brunel. [1][53] In a 2022 account, she further alleged that Jean-Luc Brunel had “pimped” her out to his friends, including Jeffrey Epstein. She stated that Jean-Luc Brunel arranged for her to attend a casting meeting with a film producer referred to only as “Jeffy” and his videographer at an apartment off the Champs-Élysées in Paris, and alleged that Jeffrey Epstein sexually assaulted her while his videographer filmed the encounter before she was able to flee. [1][56] Courtney Soerensen welcomed Jean-Luc Brunel’s 2020 arrest, telling the Associated Press: “My heart is rejoicing.” [53]
Marianne Shine (USian-Danish-Hungarian, born circa 1963, US) graduated from a Pennsylvania college in classical art and archaeology in 1985 and travelled to Paris that autumn at age 22 for a modelling career. Her Danish mother, a travel agent, and her Hungarian gynaecologist father encouraged her to go, confident the Paris agencies would take care of her. Karin Models signed her. She has publicly described the apartment and agency culture as predatory from her first days inside it, in testimony published by Marie Claire Australia in 2022. [92]
Thysia Huisman (Dutch, born circa 1972, Leiden, Netherlands) gave one of the most detailed public accounts of alleged abuse by Jean-Luc Brunel, providing consistent testimony to the Guardian, Fox News, the Daily Beast, and French investigating magistrates. Thysia Huisman states that in September 1991, when she was 18 years old, her modelling agency in Brussels, Models Office, whose owners Pierre Eggermont (Belgian, born unknown, Belgium) and Marielou Eggermont (Belgian, born unknown, Belgium) told her she must meet Jean-Luc Brunel, sent her to his Paris apartment on Avenue Hoche. [59][52]
She arrived at what she described as a large, well-furnished apartment near the Arc de Triomphe, where she was made to sleep on the floor of another model’s room on her first night. [56][59] She attended test shoots and go-sees over the following days, and every evening there were group dinners of fifteen to twenty people at expensive Paris restaurants. [59] One evening Jean-Luc Brunel told her his “good friend the CEO of Miramax,” whom she later identified as Harvey Weinstein (USian, born March 19, 1952, Flushing, Queens, New York, US), would be in Paris the following week and that she should meet him. [59] On her fourth or fifth night, at a nightclub, after having one or two drinks, she became overcome with blurred vision and extreme dizziness. In her own words, as reported by Fox News: “From there, it is pretty fragmented. I remember him taking me to his room, and I remember trying to get away. He ripped my blouse, and I blacked out.” [52][17] She continued, as quoted: “I woke up naked, disorientated, bruises on my thighs. I knew I had been raped.” [17] She found herself naked except for a kimono that was not hers. She grabbed her belongings and fled, as she described to the Guardian: “I just ran. I was scared. I grabbed my clothes, rushed to the other girl’s room, got my backpack and left. Like a thief in the night. He was on the phone in the living room. I was scared what he would say.” [59] On the street, she told the Guardian, “the buildings were like moving. Everything sounded really loud. I felt totally disconnected.” [59]
Thysia Huisman told her Dutch boyfriend at the time only in the vaguest terms. She told no one else for years. “I was really ashamed,” she said. [59] She became the first person to formally report Jean-Luc Brunel to French authorities, filing a complaint in September 2019. She acknowledged her complaint was likely outside the applicable statute of limitations but went public to encourage more recent victims to come forward. [58][60] Eleven other women subsequently came forward following her disclosure, though their allegations were assessed as similarly time-barred. [60] After Jean-Luc Brunel’s arrest in December 2020, she told the AP: “It sounds like he is not getting out. That’s great. Absolutely. Tears of joy.” [58] After his death in February 2022, she told the AP: “It makes me angry, because I’ve been fighting for years.” [3]
Zoe Brock (New Zealand, born circa 1974, New Zealand) was 17 years old in October 1991 when her Australian modelling agency sent her to stay at Jean-Luc Brunel’s Paris apartment, reportedly describing the arrangement as the “safest” placement for a minor. [17][91] She told Fox News she was immediately subjected to Jean-Luc Brunel’s unwanted advances, later discovered a spyhole built into the bathroom of his apartment, and was made to leave after refusing his approaches. In a 2017 essay, Zoe Brock also recorded that Jean-Luc Brunel offered her drugs and propositioned her for sex during the stay. [1] She told Fox News she believed Jean-Luc Brunel had high-level government connections that had shielded him from accountability, though no documentary evidence for that assertion appears in the public record. [17] Zoe Brock subsequently assisted investigator Matan Uziel (Israeli, born April 21, 1985, Israel) in tracking Jean-Luc Brunel’s whereabouts after 2019. [97]
Five additional models, unnamed in the public record, gave detailed accounts to the Guardian in August 2019 of Jean-Luc Brunel drugging and raping them when they were in their teens in the 1980s and 1990s, all while working in Paris. [56] A photographer who worked for Jean-Luc Brunel at Karin Models during that period described him to the Guardian as “a vile pig.” [56] One of the five stated she was raped twice by Jean-Luc Brunel in 1996 and left Paris immediately afterward. When her original US-based modelling agent confronted Karin Models about the abuse, he was warned not to pursue the matter, with the warning including the claim that Jean-Luc Brunel had Russian mafia connections and could ensure that accusers would be made to “disappear.” [1][56] That warning has not been independently verified and no organised crime connection to Jean-Luc Brunel appears in the documentary record.
Virginia Roberts Giuffre (USian, born August 9, 1983, US; died April 25, 2025, Australia) was among the most extensively documented accusers of both Jeffrey Epstein and Jean-Luc Brunel. Virginia Roberts Giuffre alleged in a 2014 court filing in Giuffre v. Maxwell, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, that Jean-Luc Brunel would offer “modelling jobs” to girls as a cover for trafficking them to Jeffrey Epstein, that he would bring girls as young as 12 to the US to “farm them out to his friends, especially Epstein,” and that she was among those trafficked to him. [1][2]
Court documents unsealed by Judge Loretta Preska (USian, born unknown, US) on August 9, 2019, the day before Jeffrey Epstein’s death, identified Jean-Luc Brunel among several men Virginia Roberts Giuffre alleged she was directed to have sex with, including hedge fund manager Glenn Dubin (USian, born circa 1958, US), attorney Alan Dershowitz (USian, born September 1, 1938, Brooklyn, New York, US), politician Bill Richardson (USian, born November 15, 1947, Pasadena, California, US; died September 1, 2023, Chatham, Massachusetts, US), MIT scientist Marvin Minsky (USian, born August 9, 1927, New York, US; died January 24, 2016, Boston, Massachusetts, US), and lawyer George J. Mitchell (USian, born August 20, 1933, Waterville, Maine, US). All denied Virginia Roberts Giuffre’s allegations. [44]
A source close to the French investigation, cited in reporting by the Daily Mail, stated that the multiple rape charges in the French indictment “solely relate to the testimony of Virginia Giuffre, and not any of the other alleged rape victims.” [57] It was Virginia Roberts Giuffre’s account of abuse at Jeffrey Epstein’s private island of Little Saint James in the early 2000s that brought the conduct within France’s applicable limitation period, as French law permits prosecution of its nationals for offences committed abroad. [57]
In her posthumous memoir “Nobody’s Girl: A Memoir of Surviving Abuse and Fighting for Justice,” published by Alfred A. Knopf on October 21, 2025 and co-written with journalist Amy Wallace (USian, born unknown, US), Virginia Roberts Giuffre stated she was raped and abused by Jean-Luc Brunel on multiple occasions as a minor. [41] She alleged that Jean-Luc Brunel participated in “group sexual activity” with girls who “appeared to be under the age of eighteen and didn’t really speak English,” including events also involving Prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor (British, born February 19, 1960, London, England). [45] She wrote that Jeffrey Epstein told her Jean-Luc Brunel “supplied the other girls who took part” in one such incident. [43] The publisher described the memoir as having been “vigorously fact-checked and legally vetted.” [44] In a 2015 court affidavit, Virginia Roberts Giuffre had stated that Jeffrey Epstein bragged to her that he had “slept with over 1,000 of Brunel’s girls.” [18]
The Garcia letter to the Department of Justice on October 22, 2025 summarised the new material as follows: Virginia Giuffre “describes trafficking of numerous underage girls by Epstein’s associate, Jean-Luc Brunel, whom Epstein boasted had sent him ‘more than a thousand girls,’ including ‘three French twelve-year-olds’ for his birthday, and who reportedly sent ‘talent’ scouts to Brazil to recruit young girls from soccer fields for Epstein.” [93] The letter also noted that Virginia Giuffre identified “several potential firsthand witnesses to these crimes, including members of Epstein’s staff,” and that it remained unclear whether the Department of Justice had ever interviewed those individuals. [93]
Virginia Roberts Giuffre’s attorney Sigrid McCawley (USian, born unknown, US) stated after Jean-Luc Brunel’s arrest: “Jean-Luc Brunel played a key role in Jeffrey Epstein’s sex trafficking ring. Virginia Giuffre in particular, my oldest client, made it a personal struggle to hold the people who assaulted so many young girls to account.” [57] Virginia Roberts Giuffre died by suicide on April 25, 2025, aged 41, in Australia. [41]
Ten women collectively made accusations against Jean-Luc Brunel in the French investigation. Several described being made to consume alcohol and drugs at parties hosted by Jean-Luc Brunel at the Paris apartment building where models were housed until they lost control of their faculties or lost consciousness, before being subjected to forced sexual penetration. [24] The Paris prosecutor’s office described an “atmosphere of prostitution and drugs, unhealthy for minors, and a climate of sexual violence” at those events. [24] Le Monde reported that eleven women had accused Jean-Luc Brunel of sexual assault in the case that was ultimately closed after his death. [73]
In 2026, a Brazilian woman identified by the BBC only as “Ana” alleged that in the early 2000s, while she was 18 years old and seeking modelling work, a Brazilian intermediary took her documents, told her she owed money for photos and travel, and began exploiting her in São Paulo. That intermediary subsequently sent Ana to a luxury hotel in São Paulo to meet Jeffrey Epstein a few weeks after her 18th birthday. Ana alleged that Jeffrey Epstein had her undress while he touched himself, and that Epstein subsequently made arrangements with the intermediary, paying ten thousand dollars, to take Ana to Paris. [73] Ana’s account aligns structurally with Virginia Giuffre’s memoir claim that Jean-Luc Brunel sent scouts on Jeffrey Epstein’s jet to Brazil to recruit underage girls from soccer fields, though Ana has not named Jean-Luc Brunel directly in publicly available documents.
Karen Mulder (Dutch, born June 1, 1970, Capelle aan den IJssel, Netherlands), an Elite supermodel who had been a protégée of Jean-Luc Brunel’s in the 1990s, described in 2002 French television interviews a widespread culture of sexual misconduct and manipulation in the modelling industry. [18][96] She stated in a television interview that she had spent five months in a mental health facility after being raped multiple times by Gerald Marie. [96] Her public disclosures served as early industry corroboration of the environment in which Jean-Luc Brunel and Gerald Marie operated together.
Jean-Luc Brunel and the 2016 Cooperation Collapse
One of the most consequential failures of institutional accountability in the Epstein case involves Jean-Luc Brunel’s attempt to cooperate with US federal prosecutors in February 2016 and the subsequent collapse of those negotiations.
According to handwritten notes from a federal prosecutor disclosed in the 2026 DOJ Epstein document releases and reported by the Wall Street Journal and Democracy Now, Jean-Luc Brunel in early February 2016 was “wanting to cooperate” with US authorities and “afraid of being prosecuted.” [21][26] He had entered secret negotiations with attorneys representing Jeffrey Epstein’s victims and was prepared to provide federal prosecutors with photographs, names, and the full network details of the trafficking ring in exchange for immunity. [23][26]
In February 2016, attorney Stan Pottinger, representing several Jeffrey Epstein victims, sent a message to a New York district prosecutor recording that he had spoken with Jean-Luc Brunel, who had identified Daniel Siad as a scout for Jeffrey Epstein and indicated he was prepared to provide further information. [83][88] That message, later submitted as a court exhibit by the Ghislaine Maxwell legal team on March 3, 2016, is one of the principal documentary sources establishing the direct working link between Jean-Luc Brunel and Daniel Siad in the Jeffrey Epstein network. [94]
An email from Jeffrey Epstein to his attorney Kathy Ruemmler (USian, born October 3, 1969, US), disclosed in the 2026 releases, stated that Jeffrey Epstein had discovered Jean-Luc Brunel was planning to go to the US Attorney’s office the following week, and that one of Jean-Luc Brunel’s associates had “asked for $3 million so that Jean-Luc would not go in.” [21][9] Whether that payment was made is not established in the public record. What is established is that Jean-Luc Brunel stopped communicating with the attorneys and never met with prosecutors. [26] The handwritten notes show the federal prosecutor who received this information discussed it with colleagues at the US Attorney’s office and the FBI, and no investigation was launched in response. [26]
Attorney David Boies (USian, born March 11, 1941, Sycamore, Illinois, US), who filed civil suits on behalf of Jeffrey Epstein’s victims, stated about the cooperation’s collapse: “We know from our lawsuits that there were more than 50 girls that were trafficked after this.” [26] Jeffrey Epstein was not arrested by federal authorities until July 2019, three and a half years later, and then only following the Miami Herald’s “Perversion of Justice” series by journalist Julie K. Brown (USian, born circa 1960, US), published in November 2018. [26] The Department of Justice has provided no formal explanation for the three-and-a-half-year gap between the February 2016 disclosure and Jeffrey Epstein’s arrest.
Jean-Luc Brunel, Gerald Marie, and the Victorious Angels Collective
The 2026 Epstein document releases have given fresh impetus to an overlapping investigation whose contours were visible long before the files became public. Gerald Marie (French, born 1950, France) ran the European arm of Elite Model Management for approximately 25 years, until his resignation in 1999 on the same day Elite chairman John Casablancas issued a public apology for the conduct of some of the agency’s executives. [96] Gerald Marie was the direct corporate rival of Jean-Luc Brunel across the 1980s and 1990s, running the Paris headquarters of Elite in parallel with Jean-Luc Brunel’s Karin Models. Allegations against him run along a structurally identical axis.
In September 2020, three months before Jean-Luc Brunel’s own arrest, the Paris prosecutor’s office opened an investigation into Gerald Marie for rape and sexual assault of a minor, based on complaints from three former models and a former BBC journalist. [98] Carré Sutton (also published as Carré Otis, USian, born September 28, 1968, San Francisco, California, US) accused Gerald Marie of “countless” rapes in 1986 when she was 17 and living in Gerald Marie’s Paris apartment that he shared with his then-wife, supermodel Linda Evangelista (Canadian, born May 10, 1965, St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada), while Linda Evangelista was away on assignment. [24][99] Jill Dodd (USian, born circa 1961, US) alleged rape in 1980 when she was 19. Lisa Brinkworth (British, born circa 1968, United Kingdom), a former BBC journalist, alleged that in October 1998, while working undercover on a documentary investigating sexual abuse in the modelling industry, Gerald Marie sexually assaulted her in a Milan nightclub. [98] Ebba Karlsson, who later accused Daniel Siad, alleged that Gerald Marie raped her when she was 20 or 21 in 1990. [98]
In September 2021, a group of former models travelled to Paris to give testimony to French investigators. [99] The French investigation was closed on 13 February 2023 on statute of limitations grounds. [96]
In March 2026, fifteen women from British, Dutch, USian, and Swedish national backgrounds, organised as the Victorious Angels We Rise collective, delivered a letter to Paris public prosecutor Laure Beccuau (French, born unknown, France) requesting that the Gerald Marie investigation be reopened in light of the new Epstein files. [100] The letter, reviewed by AFP, stated that the signatories could provide “court documents and emails” showing collaboration “between Gérald Marie, Brunel and Epstein,” and “linking” them to “agencies MC2 and E Model Management.” [100] Lisa Brinkworth told AFP: “What we want investigators to determine is the nature of the link between Epstein and Gérald Marie, and whether he was involved in any wrongdoing with Epstein.” [100] The letter placed the direct link between Jean-Luc Brunel, Gerald Marie, Daniel Siad, and Jeffrey Epstein squarely on record with French prosecutors in an evidentiary posture that the earlier, separate French proceedings had not accommodated.
The same Paris attorney, Anne-Claire Le Jeune (French, born unknown, France), represents victims in both the Gerald Marie and Jean-Luc Brunel proceedings. Anne-Claire Le Jeune has publicly argued that there should be no statute of limitations for crimes against minors under French law. [99]
Jean-Luc Brunel and the French Criminal Investigation
The Paris prosecutor’s office opened a formal investigation on August 23, 2019, two weeks after Jeffrey Epstein’s death, targeting “acts of sexual nature likely to have been committed by Jeffrey Epstein and possible accomplices,” and naming Jean-Luc Brunel specifically. [24] French police searched Jean-Luc Brunel’s Paris home and the Karin Models office in September 2019. [1] Jean-Luc Brunel went into hiding following Jeffrey Epstein’s death. His lawyer, in October 2019, stated that Jean-Luc Brunel “vehemently rejected” all allegations but was available for questioning. [2]
French police, who referred to Jean-Luc Brunel in background briefings as “The Ghost,” mounted an intensified search effort. In November 2019, police issued a multilingual appeal translated into English to reach additional victims and witnesses. [58] Thysia Huisman became the first person to formally report Jean-Luc Brunel to French authorities, filing a complaint in September 2019. Eleven further women came forward following her disclosure. [60]
By July 2020, Israeli investigator Matan Uziel, working on intelligence developed with victims including Zoë Brock and Thysia Huisman, had used a combination of GNSS tracking, mobile phone tracking, technical intelligence, and human source intelligence to establish that Jean-Luc Brunel had not in fact fled to South America as rumoured, and had pinpointed his presence at two locations within France. [97] Matan Uziel forwarded the intelligence to the FBI and French authorities.
Jean-Luc Brunel was intercepted on December 16, 2020 by French police at Charles de Gaulle Airport as he prepared to board a flight to Dakar, Senegal. [1] He was taken into custody on counts of rape, sexual assault, rape and sexual assault of minors under 15 and over 15, sexual harassment, criminal conspiracy, and human trafficking for the purposes of sexual exploitation of minors. [10] On December 19, 2020, the Paris prosecutor’s office formally charged Jean-Luc Brunel with rape of minors over the age of 15 and sexual harassment. [2][7] The trafficking charge was not attached at the initial charging stage; prosecutors indicated evidence on that count was still being assessed. [8]
On June 29, 2021, Jean-Luc Brunel was formally indicted under the French “mise en examen” procedure for drugging and raping a 17-year-old girl in the 1990s. [1] A second complainant came forward in September 2021, accusing Jean-Luc Brunel of drugging her drink and raping her in Paris. [1] His legal team, comprised of attorneys Mathias Chichportich, Marianne Abgrall, and Christophe Ingrain (all French, born unknown, France), repeatedly filed applications for release pending trial, citing the conditions of his detention. All were denied. [3][6]
Psychiatric expert reports submitted to the Paris court in November 2022 assessed Jean-Luc Brunel as being at high risk of suicide, in a depressive state, and following multiple self-harm attempts during his detention. [24] On February 19, 2022, Jean-Luc Brunel was found hanging in his cell at La Santé Prison. He was 75 years old. [3][6] A formal inquiry into the death concluded in March 2023, with a prosecutor stating that, based on psychiatric expert opinions, the death was a reaction to his indictment and incarceration and that no criminal offence was committed in connection with it. [24] His legal team issued a statement reading: “His tragedy is that of a 75-year-old man crushed by a media-judicial system, about which there will now be time to ask questions. Jean-Luc Brunel had always maintained his innocence and had intensified his efforts to prove it,” adding the death was “not guided by guilt but a profound sense of injustice.” [6]
The criminal case was closed automatically upon his death under French law. Its formal dismissal was recorded in 2023. The consequence was that no trial occurred, no verdict was reached, and the eleven women whose accusations formed the basis of the French investigation had no court proceeding in which their testimony was tested or adjudicated. [73][30]
Jean-Luc Brunel and the 2026 Epstein Files
The US Department of Justice released a tranche of over three million pages of Epstein files on January 30, 2026, along with approximately 2,000 videos and 180,000 images, following the Epstein Files Transparency Act signed into law in November 2025 by President Donald Trump (USian, born June 14, 1946, Queens, New York, US). [27][28] A preceding release in December 2025, which contained faulty redaction techniques that allowed members of the public to recover blacked-out text, and the January 2026 release together constitute the DOJ’s stated final disclosure. [28] The Wall Street Journal subsequently reported that the DOJ’s redaction failures had exposed the full names of at least 43 victims, more than two dozen of whom the Journal was able to verify. [94] Jean-Luc Brunel’s name appears across 756 documents, 51 flight log entries, and 3 email records in the indexed Epstein case materials. [5] The crowdsourced archive Jmail had indexed more than 1.4 million of those files, 2.47 million pages, and 1 million emails by February 19, 2026. [94]
An undated diagram released by the DOJ depicting Jeffrey Epstein’s inner circle includes Jean-Luc Brunel’s photograph alongside Ghislaine Maxwell and other named associates. [27] A 2019 FBI Criminal Investigative Division document, previously redacted and partially unredacted on February 10, 2026 following pressure from Representatives Thomas Massie (USian, born January 26, 1971, Huntington, West Virginia, US) and Ro Khanna (USian, born September 13, 1976, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, US), identifies Jean-Luc Brunel as one of the individuals the FBI had “once called co-conspirators” of Jeffrey Epstein. [25] The co-conspirators named in that unredacted document alongside Jean-Luc Brunel include Les Wexner, Jeffrey Epstein’s longtime assistant Lesley Groff (USian, born unknown, US), and Jeffrey Epstein’s personal lawyer Darren Indyke (USian, born unknown, US). [25][28]
A draft indictment that was never brought against Jeffrey Epstein, released in the 2026 files, alleged that from 2001 to 2005 Jeffrey Epstein and three unnamed defendants conspired to “procure females under the age of 18” to engage “in lewd conduct” for money “to satisfy Jeffrey Epstein’s prurient interests.” [27] The identities of the three unnamed defendants have not been publicly confirmed.
In September 2025, Bloomberg News obtained and authenticated approximately 18,700 emails from one of Jeffrey Epstein’s personal Yahoo accounts spanning 2002 through 2022, using cryptographic verification, metadata analysis, and review by four independent experts. [78] Those emails include correspondence involving Jean-Luc Brunel and other Epstein associates and are functionally part of the broader corpus the 2026 DOJ releases have completed.
The February 2026 Paris Prosecutor Umbrella Investigations
On February 14, 2026, the Paris prosecutor’s office announced the creation of a dedicated team of five magistrates to analyse the released US documents for evidence implicating French nationals. [29][30] The office announced simultaneous re-examination of the Jean-Luc Brunel file to extract “any piece that could be usefully reused in a new line of inquiry.” [30] Two new umbrella investigations were opened, one into human trafficking and sexual crimes, the other into financial offences including money laundering and tax fraud. [23] The umbrella structure means new cases no longer have to reach the statutory threshold on their own evidence; they can be investigated as part of the French dimension of the Jeffrey Epstein network that Jean-Luc Brunel anchored.
Three living French nationals were identified as initial subjects of the new inquiries. [74]
Fabrice Aidan (French, born unknown, France), a middle-ranking French diplomat seconded to the United Nations from 2006 to 2013 and subsequently employed at Swiss bank Edmond de Rothschild, appears in more than 200 documents in the January 2026 release. Reuters has reported that emails from 2010 to 2016 show the transfer of UN Security Council briefings and other confidential documents from Fabrice Aidan to Jeffrey Epstein from his personal and UN accounts. [101] Mediapart has reported that Fabrice Aidan was the subject of a 2013 FBI investigation into child pornography allegations while living in New York, which produced no charges. [102] French financial prosecutors are investigating accusations of “passive corruption of a foreign public official and complicity in that crime.” On March 24, 2026, French investigators raided the Paris offices of Edmond de Rothschild as part of the Fabrice Aidan investigation. [101] Fabrice Aidan denies wrongdoing.
Jack Lang (French, born September 2, 1939, Mirecourt, France), a former French Culture Minister under President François Mitterrand, appears 673 times in the released files in correspondence with Jeffrey Epstein spanning 2012 to 2019. [104] Jack Lang has stated he was introduced to Jeffrey Epstein by US film director Woody Allen (USian, born December 1, 1935, Bronx, New York, US), who is documented as having had approximately 100 scheduled meetings with Jeffrey Epstein between 2014 and 2019. [111] His daughter Caroline Lang (French, born unknown, France), a film producer, held 50 percent of the shares of Prytanée LLC, a US Virgin Islands-registered company founded by Jeffrey Epstein in 2016, holding $1.4 million, and was named as a beneficiary of five million US dollars in a will Jeffrey Epstein signed two days before his death. [106] On February 6, 2026, the French National Financial Prosecutor’s Office opened a preliminary investigation into Jack Lang and Caroline Lang for laundering of aggravated tax fraud proceeds. Jack Lang resigned as head of the Arab World Institute on February 7, 2026. French police raided the Arab World Institute on February 16, 2026. [84][106]
Frédéric Chaslin (French, born February 14, 1963, Paris, France), a French conductor and former Music Director of the Santa Fe Opera, appears in five email exchanges with Jeffrey Epstein between 2013 and 2019. [107] The exchanges include Frédéric Chaslin writing to Jeffrey Epstein in September 2013: “I found a great girl for your next stay in Paris, a student in philosophy, 21.” [107] Frédéric Chaslin is under Paris prosecutor investigation for alleged sexual harassment of opera singer Amelia Feuer (USian-French, born unknown, US) by text message in 2016. He denies the complaint. [107]
Of these three, it is the Aidan investigation that most directly intersects with the Jean-Luc Brunel record. The five-magistrate team’s umbrella brief covers both trafficking and financial offences, and Fabrice Aidan’s documented 2010-2016 transfer of confidential diplomatic material to Jeffrey Epstein sits in the same window as the final active years of Jean-Luc Brunel’s trafficking pipeline into the US.
Jean-Luc Brunel and the Macron Disinformation Campaign
In early February 2026, France’s agency for tackling foreign information manipulation, Viginum, identified a coordinated disinformation campaign backed by Russian assets using fabricated documents to falsely implicate French President Emmanuel Macron in the Epstein files through Jean-Luc Brunel. [40]
The fabricated material included a fake email exchange purportedly between Jeffrey Epstein and Jean-Luc Brunel dated May 20, 2017, in which Jean-Luc Brunel was made to describe Emmanuel Macron’s sexual preferences and plans to bring “boys” to Jeffrey Epstein’s Paris residence on Avenue Foch. [40] Those documents have no trace in the DOJ’s official database. Their reference codes draw up unrelated entries. The voice in one accompanying video appeared to be AI-generated. [40] The campaign also circulated altered front pages of Libération and Le Parisien with fabricated headlines claiming Emmanuel Macron had visited Jeffrey Epstein’s private island eighteen times. No evidence of any such visit exists in the released files. [40]
Viginum identified two separate but simultaneous Russian operations. The first was Storm-1516, assessed by Viginum as linked to Russian military intelligence and documented as having conducted at least 77 disinformation operations targeting Western countries between late 2023 and March 2025. [110] The second was the Matryoshka bot network, documented as one of the largest propaganda networks coordinated by the Kremlin. [40] The bot network accounts operated across X (formerly Twitter) and TikTok, amplifying the fabricated content for distribution. Antibot4Navalny, the collective monitoring pro-Kremlin networks, told AFP that while Storm-1516 and Matryoshka had run simultaneous operations targeting Emmanuel Macron in early February 2026, no direct technical link between the two operations beyond timing and topic could be conclusively established. [110]
The campaign was built around a false article falsely attributed to Le Parisien journalist Victor Cousin (French, born circa 2000, France) and hosted on a website at france-soir.net that fraudulently used the identity of the real French media outlet France Soir (which operates at the .fr domain). The real Victor Cousin, aged 26, filed a police complaint over the identity theft, writing for Le Parisien that he had been forced to explain to officers “how pro-Russian individuals had stolen my identity to attack the French president.” [110] France Soir itself publicly distanced itself from the fraudulent site. [110]
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky (Ukrainian, born January 25, 1978, Kryvyi Rih, Soviet Ukraine) was separately targeted by false posts exploiting the Epstein files. Russian foreign ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova (Russian, born December 24, 1975, Moscow, Soviet Russia) stated that the Epstein files demonstrate “how the Western elite treats children” and that such officials “stand behind the Kyiv regime.” [110]
The campaign is documented here because it deliberately used Jean-Luc Brunel’s real, documented connections to Jeffrey Epstein as a vehicle for fabricated claims, and because it represents a documented effort to introduce false information into the evidentiary environment of the Epstein investigation at the exact moment the authentic record was being opened to public scrutiny.

Current Status
Jean-Luc Brunel is deceased. His death occurred on February 19, 2022, at La Santé Prison in Paris, and was ruled a suicide by hanging following a formal inquiry completed in March 2023. The French criminal case against him, carrying charges of rape of minors and sexual harassment, was automatically closed upon his death and formally dismissed in 2023. No trial, no verdict, and no adjudication of any allegation against him in any court in any jurisdiction has ever taken place.
The Paris prosecutor’s office, as of February 2026, is actively re-examining his case file following the release of US Epstein documents. The stated purpose is to identify evidence that may be usable in new lines of inquiry involving other living individuals. Those new investigations, into both human trafficking and financial crimes, remain active as of April 2026. [29][30] Four individuals identified in connection with Jean-Luc Brunel’s documented network, specifically Fabrice Aidan, Daniel Siad, Frédéric Chaslin, and Jack Lang (with Caroline Lang), are currently under active investigation by Paris prosecutors. [74][84][101] Daniel Siad has been charged in France with rape and human trafficking in connection with the complaint by Ebba Karlsson. [87] The Victorious Angels We Rise collective has formally requested reopening of the Gerald Marie investigation on the grounds that the new Epstein files supply documentary evidence of collaboration with Jean-Luc Brunel and Jeffrey Epstein across the rival Elite and MC2 agencies. [100]
Beyond France, formal trafficking investigations are active in Latvia (opened February 5, 2026), Lithuania (opened February 3, 2026), and Poland (opened March 10, 2026). Each is structured around the recruitment pipeline Jean-Luc Brunel ran through MC2 and Daniel Siad. Estonia has declined to open a formal investigation despite parliamentary pressure. The 1Mother Agency in Kyiv, which Jean-Luc Brunel founded in 2019 out of the dissolution of MC2 Miami, remains active.
The eleven women who made accusations against Jean-Luc Brunel in the French proceedings had no forum in which their testimony was adjudicated before the case against him was closed. No accountability mechanism in France, the US, or any other jurisdiction has produced a finding, verdict, or sanction connected to Jean-Luc Brunel’s documented and alleged conduct.
